Tulum has an incredible restaurant and nightlife scene. You don’t need our advice to find an amazing restaurant or cocktail bar (and you may be better off reading Eater anyways) but these are our favorite Tulum restaurants.
We recommend getting reservations or making plans for Thursday early evening (before the welcome party) and Friday night. Please let us know if you have any questions.
This is our favorite spot and we always save it for our last night in Tulum. Opened by two young Italians, this place has the best homemade pasta and focaccia. Their seafood pasta is a personal fav. We love stuffing ourselves full of Italian bread, cheese, and pasta while on the beach! No reservations, pesos only.
Located in the heart of the jungle, Casa Jaguar is our favorite jungle side spot. Known for a rustic style of cooking, their ceviche and wood-fired grilled tacos can’t be missed. Get there early to enjoy a custom cocktail at their dreamy mezcal bar. Reservations on OpenTable.
For our foodies! An unreal experience, the food is super unique, but this chef is SPECIAL. Drinks are amazing as well - they have an awesome cocktail garden so a great spot to just grab drinks and enjoy the amazing vibe. Reservations first come first serve after 7pm. Accepts cash and cards.
Hartword is well known spot and their menu changes daily based on the sea and the land. All cooking is done by open fire within their hand made wood burning oven and grill. Reservations basically required -- they start accepting reservations one month in advance (email reservations@hartwoodtulum.com). Cash only.
We highly recommend renting bikes and exploring the six mile stretch of Tulum beach. Your hotel will have bikes available to check-out or rent. Hop on a bike and take the opportunity to pop in and out of bars, restaurants and shops and explore some of the most unique resorts in Tulum.
The 13th-century, walled Mayan archaeological site at Tulum National Park is a great place for a day-trip from Tulum. The tour takes about 45 minutes and can be visited on your own or through tour companies.
This is one of our (Kate's) favorite things to do after a good, long day of doing nothing on the beach! A perfect way to end your day before you head back to your room to get ready for dinner! You will see massage huts up and down the beach when you walk around. You can usually get an hour long massage for about $30-40/pp (cash only).
There are so many stunning hotels along the beach zone. We recommend stopping for a cocktail and admiring the intriguing hotel designs of Casa Malca, Azulik and Nomade.
